Small Change

Illustrated Idioms Series

The Illustrated Idioms is a project commissioned by my father. As dads are wont to do, he and his siblings, along with their spouses, decided to give each other nicknames based on their personality traits; specifically, the little quirks they use to annoy each other the most.

Small Change is, of course, a gentle jab at being frugal and pinching every single penny. I decided to reframe the phrase. The illustration features a whimsical bee, decked out with a tiny coin and a miniature purse, pivoting the focus toward environmental mindfulness. It serves as a reminder that making small, everyday changes can drastically improve the well-being of our planet and its precious species.
